IDP Nuggets Week 12

Here are the juicy IDP nuggets for week 12 to quench your IDP hunger! You won't go hungry with this all you can eat buffet!

SS, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Pittsburgh Steelers

For my first IDP nugget, this is only the beginning of what will surely be a HOF career. Fitzpatrick has five defensive TDs in his three years in the league and has had at least one interception return for a TD in each season. As of this season, he got off to a somewhat slow start, but over the last four games, heโ€™s been as good as anyone in the NFL. During that four-game span, heโ€™s produced 24 total tackles, three interceptions, and five PBUs. In two of the last three games, Fitzpatrick has had at least one interception and two PBUs.

DE, Carlos Dunlap, Seattle Seahawks

Since being traded to Seattle, my next IDP nugget Carlos Dunlap has been playing as well as he ever has. While he did have a clunker in his second games with Seattle, he sandwiched it with two stellar performances. In those two bookend games, Dunlap has produced nine total tackles, five QB hits, and three sacks. Do I think heโ€™ll continue this level of play? Yes, I do, as his next four opponents of the schedule are Philadelphia, NY Giants, NY Jets, and Washington, all of whom give up a lot of sacks.

FS, Justin Simmons, Denver Broncos

Over the last four games, the next IDP nugget, Simmons has recorded three interceptions and five PBUs. He also has three games in which he has tallied at least one interception and two PBUs. On top of that, Simmons has recorded at least five tackles in every game this season, except for one game. As dependable as an option as you can find as he hasnโ€™t missed a snap since transitioning to the free safety position. Which is a span of 42 games and counting.

LB, Avery Williamson, Pittsburgh Steelers

As we continue with my IDP nuggets, not all changes of sceneries work out for players. In Williamsonโ€™s last three games played with the New York Jets, he produced 33 total tackles on 181 snaps played. In his first two games with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he has only played 19 snaps, producing one tackle. Itโ€™s a night and day change for a player that fantasy managers were high on, as they expected him to potentially fill the role opened by an injury to star linebacker Devin Bush.

DT, Folorunso โ€œFoleyโ€ Fatukasi, New York Jets

Through the first six games of the season, IDP nugget Fatukasi had just seven total tackles. Over the next four games, he has produced 22 total tackles. In two of those games, Fatukasi has had at least six or more tackles. Sometimes a player just needs an opportunity to show what they can do and the Jets have given Fatukasi three starts in the last four games and heโ€™s producing. A great waiver wire addition and is only being started in 52% of MFL.com fantasy leagues.

CB, Jaylon Johnson, Chicago Bears

My next IDP nugget is rookie Jaylon Johnson, who currently ranks fourth in the NFL with 14 PBUโ€™s. On the season he has at least one PBU in seven of the ten games played this season and has five games with at least two PBUs. Johnson is amazingly being started in 27% of MFL.com fantasy leagues. Heโ€™s a great fantasy option in leagues that have cornerback premium scoring.

DE, Clelin Ferrell, Las Vegas Raiders

The next IDP nugget is not a positive one and one that has fantasy managers frustrated, to say the least. Ferrell is currently riding a ten-game sackless streak and only has one sack over the last sixteen games heโ€™s played. Ferrellโ€™s last sack came last season versus a divisional foe, the Chargers whom he also had his best game of career against with 2.5 sacks in the first meeting. So maybe he needs to face the to get back on track? Nope, two weeks ago he faced them, and while he had four QB hits he still could not get a sack.ย

DT, Tim Settle, Washington Football Team

My first defensive tackle in my IDP nugget article is a third-year player, Tim Settle, from Virginia Tech. He has one sack in three of his last four games played, and as I am writing this on Thanksgiving night, he gets another sack versus the Dallas Cowboys, to make it four of the last five games. I searched all my IDP leagues today to add him and he was available almost everywhere.

FS, Jessie Bates, Cincinnati Bengals

My last IDP nugget is for one of my favorite players in the NFL, Jessie Bates. Already playing at a high level, heโ€™s upped his game over the last three weeks. During that span, Bates has registered 22 total tackles, 17 solos, two interceptions, and five PBUs. Heโ€™s had at least one PBU in every game this year except two and has five games where heโ€™s had at least two PBUs. before this season he only had three games with two or more PBUs. As far as tackles go, heโ€™s had three games with ten plus tackles this year and increases his career total of such games to eight.
